Mission

To advance the kinds of cultural competency necessary for success in Atlanta, Culture Connect offers social, cultural, linguistic, and emotional support by developing partnerships between refugees, asylees, and immigrants with American individuals and corporations.


History

Culture Connect, Inc. is a non-profit agency that seeks to provide a holistic approach to cultural, social, linguistic, and emotional adjustment to life in the United States for immigrants, refugees, and asylees, to teach cultural competency to American individuals and corporations, and to invite each cultural group to educate and learn from the other.

Bernadette Ludwig and Jennifer A. Watts, Ph.D. co-founded Culture Connect, Inc. in August 2005; they were the initial management team. Dr. Watts is a native of Kansas who earmed her Ph.D. in Religion from Emory University and her Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. She has her own private psychotherapy practice in Atlanta. Ms. Ludwig was born and raised in Austria were she obtained her Master's Degree in Social and Cultural Anthroplogy at the University of Vienna. After serving many years as Culture Connect, Inc.'s Executive Director, she is using her practical experience to earn her Ph.D. in Sociology at the City University of New York.
